In Beaconsfield
Dominic Grieve and local Councillors have long been at the forefront of major campaigns in the constituency.
We successfully opposed the siting of motorway service stations in Hedgerley, Gerrards Cross, Iver and Denham. But John Prescott approved the one at Beaconsfield destroying acres of ancient woodland at the stroke of a pen.
Dominic Grieve has consistently supported the Green Belt.
I supported widening of the M40 to four lanes - a scheme that was achieved without the consumption of additional land. A major plus to our campaign was that the motorway was surfaced with porous asphalt. Noise pollution in Beaconsfield and Gerrards Cross in particular has been reduced through this successful campaign initiated firstly by County Councillor Mike Appleyard.
